Why do I need a replacement or spare CPAP Water Chamber?

For some CPAP users, the water tank or water chamber can become gross over time.  The Humid Air Standard Water Chamber is the replacement or spare for the AirSense 11 Auto CPAP. The typical water chamber tub has a lifespan of three to six months depending on proper care. For best results and to promote a longer life for your CPAP machine, use only distilled water (available at any grocery store) and empty your water chamber tub every morning.

Why does my CPAP machine use a humidification chamber?

Using a CPAP machine can result in dryness and irritation in the nasal cavity and throat. The humidifier on a CPAP machine adds moisture to the air, which makes breathing more comfortable. CPAP machine settings, including humidity, are tailored to each person's unique needs.

How do I clean my HumidAir™ 11 water chamber?

A clean water chamber is important when using humidification for CPAP. If not properly maintained your water chamber can collect bacteria, germs, and mold which can lead to illness. To prevent sickness and promote longevity of your water chamber it’s important to 

• Use distilled water as using tap water can lead to mineral build up, calcium deposits, microorganisms, and bacteria.
• Empty the chamber and rinse daily, typically after receiving therapy. 
• Once a week wash the chamber with warm water and dish soap. Rinse and let air dry completely before reattaching to your CPAP machine.
• The HumidAir is not dishwasher safe.

Tips for Using the HumidAir™ 11 Water Tub

• Do not fill the tank of water past the maximum fill line as damage can occur to the humidifier or the CPAP unit.
• Verify the hose doesn’t have water in it before disconnecting the hose from the tank outlet as water can spill out through the hose and into the machine.
• Use only room temperature distilled water to fill the tank. 
• Do not add any contaminants or additives into the water.
• Remove the chamber, empty all the water, and refill the empty tank before moving the humidifier base.
• Never fill the tank when it is inside the humidifier.
